Headwaters Fall Colors Weekend
Sept 24-25, 2005

Join us for 2 days of biking and FUN in Park Rapids, MN during peak fall color season!

SATURDAY RIDE: On Saturday, Sept 24th, we will join other cyclists for the Headwaters 100 bike ride sponsored by Itascatur Ski-Bike-Run. This ride is being led as a TCBC Outreach Ride (see Outreach Ride section of the schedule for additional information) and has mileage options of 45, 75, and 100. Enjoy northern Minnesota’s fabulous fall colors, Itasca State Park, the Mississippi River headwaters, and the forests and lakes of the area. Depart at 8:00 AM from the registration area (Century School) at 501 Helten Ave in Park Rapids. SUNDAY RIDE: We will be doing a 35-45 mile “B” ride departing at 10 am from the Heartland trailhead in Park Rapids. Directions to the trailhead: from the intersection of Hwys 71 & 34 in Park Rapids, go east on Hwy 34 for 4-5 blocks and take a left into Heartland Park. The trailhead is in the park. Cap off your weekend in the north woods with another scenic ride through forests, past lakes and on trails!

LODGING: Make your own lodging reservations at Breezy Point resort (www.breezypoint.com) or, for other lodging options, go to www.parkrapids.com. Breezy Point resort is NOT in Breezy Point---it is about 8 miles west of Park Rapids!

MEALS: Meals will be on your own, but there will be a potluck dinner on Saturday night at 6:30 pm at the Breezy Point cabins. Bring something to grill, something to share, and stories from the day! There will also be a spaghetti dinner Friday night from 5-8 pm, sponsored by Kinship of Park Rapids (see ride web-site (above) for additional info.)
