BIKE
IN THE HEART OF TEXAS HILL COUNTRY
January 18 - 24, 2003
Leader: Susan Evan
Join me in Marble Falls, Texas, January 18th - 24th, 2003, for a
week of biking in the beautiful Texas Hill Country. Our meeting place
each morning will be at my mom's house in Marble Falls, which is approximately
50 miles west of Austin.
On at least one day we will join the Highland Lakes Cycling Club on
one of their club rides, and on the other days we will ride on our
own using different routes in the area. These will be TCBC, A/B rides
with distances from approximately 30 - 60 miles. There maybe a chance
to do a 100 mile ride with the local bike club. All routes and maps
will be provided.
You will be responsible for your own transportation, accommodations
and meals. You have several options for transportation. You can drive
from Minneapolis to Marble Falls (approx. 1100 miles) or fly into
Dallas (3 hours), San Antonio (1 1/2 hours) or Austin (1 hour), rent
a car and drive to Marble Falls. As for accommodations, I have a list
of motels in Marble Falls, which are only a short distance from my
Mom's house. There are many nice restaurants in the area, and we can
also use my Mom's house to cook group meals and to just hang out.
