Fat Biking at Lebanon Hills.
I rode the Lebanon Hills Fat Bike trails the last two days and I was impressed how good the trails are after the big melt down earlier this week. They got about 2-3 inches of snow on Wednesday and that bonded to the ice to make a wonderful snow trail. There are still a few icy spots, mostly on the beginner trail closest to the trailhead, but it’s mostly great riding. I was riding on Dillinger 5 studded tires with about 5 PSI inflation pressure and I had plenty of traction. I think non-studded tires would work quite well if you are careful in the icy sections.
I am going back again tomorrow morning (Saturday January 28th) at 9:00 AM. I think an early start to beat the crowds is a good idea. I have a feeling it will be quite busy there tomorrow. I’m sure the parking lot will be full by noon!
