We'll ride mostly on paved trails, painted bicycle lanes and/or low-traffic roads in the west metro area. Join us as we meander from Painters Community Park for the first time this year and make our way to the Mid-town Greenway where we will traverse to Hopkins for a refreshment stop before making our way back to the hustle and bustle of the city. This is a beautiful time of year to bike as we begin our transition from the confines of winter to springtime outdoors on our bikes. Water and bathrooms avail. at the community center. This ride features the Gateway Trail, a scenic, shaded, and little wind trail. The ride has extensions into scenic Washington County. The easiest ride is doing the Gateway Trail out to Pine Point and back - 26 mi. Ride leader chooses which extensions to ride. Good maps and cue sheets of extensions provided. 7 TUE 5:45 PM A/B 36/29/24 mi. THE ACAPULCO RIDE. Depart from Valley Ridge Mall, Stillwater. From I-694, take Hwy 36 east for 6.5 miles. Turn left on Washington Ave (first stoplight past the Hwy 5 overpass) Take an immediate right on the frontage road for 1/4 mile to the Acapulco Restaurant on the left. It's been too much fun, so we're going to give it one more run! A flat start and finish with lovely hills in between. For the most part, quiet roads. Leader paces the first three miles to ensure a proper warm-up. We'll dine on the patio after. Rain (snow?) or extreme Canadian cold may cancel at leaders discretion. Explore the northern Twin Cities metro area while riding through open meadows and tree-lined avenues of the Anoka Sand Plain. There is no rest stop on this route through April. White Bear Beach is located approx. 1/4 mi. east of Hwy 61 and Hwy 96 intersection. This ride features the rolling terrain and a climb out of Marine on the St. Croix on Nason Hill. Depart from OVERFLOW Parking lot (Note - NOW USING THE "SUMMER" PARKING LOT LOCATION)for Eriks Bike Shop, across Texas Ave from the bike shop located at Minnetonaka BLVD and Texas Ave (between 100 & 169)in St Louis Park. A few extra miles all on bike trails to stretch the legs then finish just in time to do the 6:00 PM "SLP'ING Out" ride if you choose (no rest stop on this actual ride - we will rest in between rides at Eriks Dick Voss .

Depart from OVERFLOW Parking lot (NOTE - NOW USING THE "SUMMER" PARKING LOT LOCATION!) for Erik's Bike Shop, across Texas Ave from the bike shop located at Minnetonka Blvd and Texas Ave (between 100 & 169) in St Louis Park. We'll ride mostly on paved trails, painted bicycle lanes and/or low-traffic roads in the west metro area. There will be a different map for each ride for those that want to go faster, but those that want to ride a B pace (about 14 MPH) along with me will be able to ride together in a group. 29 WED 6:00 PM A/B 20-30 mi. The Whole Enchilada!. Depart from The Roseville Professional Center, SW corner of Hwy 36 and Hamline Ave in Roseville. Park at west end of lot. Ride past area lakes and parks of Roseville and the surrounding area. Join your compadres afterwards at La Casita or other establishment for fun and refueling. Andele! Andele! Epa! Epa! Yeehah!!! 29 WED 6:00 PM N-C 15-25 mi. Maple(ss) Grove. Depart from Maple Grove Cycling & Fitness, 8121 Wedgewood Lane (corner of Grove Dr. and Wedgewood Ln., near Cub Foods; take I-94 west to Weaver Lake Rd. exit, head east to intersection with Elm Creek Blvd., turn south to Grove Dr. (first left). This will be a mapless ride, following the roads and trails of Maple Grove. Possible destinations include the Elm Creek Park Preserve, Fish Lake Park, and the Coon Rapids Dam. We will be departing from the parking lot in front of Maple Grove Cycling & Fitness at the same time as a much faster group of riders, so be sure you're with the right bunch! Depending on the route, opportunities for snacks and water along the way may be slim, but there are numerous dining/snack/water choices for before and after the ride. 30 THU 8:30 AM B 32/52 mi. Thursdays on the Cannon. Depart from Welch Village trailhead. We'll depart Welch toward Red Wing, then continue on the Hay Creek (Goodhue Pioneer) trail, and return to Welch, a 32-mile round trip. For the additional, optional 20 miles, we'll add a Cannon Falls round trip. Don Picard.

30 THU 9:15 AM C 10-20mi BREAKFAST AT ORIGINAL PANCAKE HOUSE. Depart from Preserve Village Mall parking lot (SE Corner by Jerry's Food). From Hwy 169 intersection go South on Hwy 169(1.7 mi) to Anderson Lakes Pkwy and straight into parking mall. We'll bike a couple of miles to breakfast and consider some added miles after Herb Schultz.

30 THU 9:30 AM B/C 24 mi. Pieces of Eight. Depart from Crosby Farm Park, bottom of hill at intersection of Crosby Farm Road, Gannon Road, and Shepard Road, St. Paul. The ride will make a figure of eight around the Mississsippi River and St. Paul. Lunch stop at Cossetta's, but feel free to bring your own sandwich. 30 THU 10:00 AM B/C 32 mi. LITTLE CANADA: WHITE BEAR. Depart from Press Gym in The Market Place Center, 2900 Rice Street, 1/2 mile north of County Road C. We will pass by Lakes Gervais and Vadnais and loop around White Bear Lake. Maps and detailed cue sheets will be available for faster or slower riders. The leader will average 12 MPH. Don Hopkins .

30 THU 5:30 PM A/B 26 or 32 mi. THURSDAY THERAPY. Depart from the parking lot of HealthPartners, corner of Wabasha and Plato, across the Wabasha Street Bridge from downtown St. Paul. Improve your relationship with your bike on a scenic ride through northern Dakota County. Various leaders. Ride coordinator is Tony Wanschura.

30 THU 6:00 PM A/B 22-27 mi. A Dutch Treat. Depart from Plymouth Station Shopping Center, Hwy 55 and County Rd 24 in Plymouth, 2 miles west of I - 94. Park at north end by the tower. Map to start: http://zzzurn-dot-com/maps/plymouthstation.html. Come to enjoy the scenic backroads or miss the scenery and push to your limit with speed - your choice. The route includes the rolling hills of Medina, Maple Plain, and Hamel. Ride leader will ride at an A/B pace. Lisa Dust.

30 THU 6:00 PM A/B 25-35 mi. Washington County -Oakdale-Lake Elmo. Depart from Menards Parking Lot in Oakdale located at Hwy 5 & Hadley Avenues. Just west of I694 at Hwy 5 Exit. Ride the quiet back roads of Oakdale, Lake Elmo, Lake Jane, & south Stillwater township. Relatively flat route with a couple of hills. Diane Ziemer.
