The curtain rises once again for the 14th season of an amazingly fun little ride called the Acapulco! This classic features a flat beginning and end, with Afton's beautiful hills in between. As always, the leader will set an easy pace for the first three miles to ensure a proper warm-up for all. One thing we try to do on the Acapulco is to encourage riders to form multiple groups of like abilities. Doing so offers those who seek it a better chance to enjoy a "true" group experience. A very pleasant ride depending on the weather, passing many lakes and streams, on flat and smooth roads, wide shoulders,low traffic, wide sweeping turns and infrequent stops. Usually, an easy shortcut provides a connection to the rest of the route for a shorter option. Great reststops and variations on the route. This is a loop ride thru Shoreview, Circle Pines, Lino Lakes, Rice Creek area, Centerville, and Hugo ie. Ramsey, Anoka, and Washington Counties. Mapless, but with a cue sheet. I am honored that many faster riders frequent the ride and finish in less time. The shortcut riders frequently end around 12:15- 12:30 riding a B pace and the other riders end at 1:00 riding a B pace. The route distances listed are not absolute and vary from week to week.
