1 TUE 8:00 AM A/AB 100 mi. NEW YEARS DAY CENTURY. Depart from Dunn Brothers Coffee, East Lake Street and West River Road Minneapolis. Gear up for the 2nd annual New Years Day Century Ride. Ride consists of 3 separate loops about 30-40 miles, each returning to Dunn Brothers for a warm up. A change of clothing is encouraged if extreme winter weather conditions exist. Ride one or all 3 loops, Hopkins, St Paul, and Minneapolis. We will use roads & trails. Have lights if doing the century in case you do not finish before dark. 1 TUE 12:15 PM A/B/C 12 mi. THE POLAR BEAR RIDE. Leave from the SW corner of St. Paul Sears, at I-94 and Marion Street. As is our tradition, we ride down Summit Avenue to the Mississippi and back. We'll order up some fantastic pizza at the Original Green Mill on Grand and Hamline during or after the ride. If you don't care to test your cycling prowess on the winter roads, then come for lunch only, about 1:15 or so. You most likely rang in the New Year last night, so you might as well get off the couch, pick up those stray champagne glasses, and keep the party rolling with all of your cycling buddies. In addition, it's high time we smash the record attendance set in 1998. We need just 110 brave souls to make it happen. Let's do it! Severe weather or impassable roads may cause cancellation.
