1 TUE 9:30 AM B 22-63 mi. Gateway Express. Depart from Burger King Parking Lot - Hwy 120 (Century Ave) and Hwy 36 (please park on west side of lot). This ride features the Gateway Trail, very cool and shaded and little wind. The ride has extensions out into scenic N. Wash. county. The easiest ride is the 22 mi. Gateway Trail (out to Pine Point and back). Ride leaders choose which extensions to go on. Leaders may ride different extensions. Good maps of the extensions are provided. The group will gather by the ATM on the north side of the lot. Saluting a Thursday tradition by starting a new one! Varied and challenging routes on the open and rolling roads of northwest Hennepin county, including the cities of Plymouth, Hamel, Medina, Loretto, Maple Plain, Independence and occasionally by Lake Minnetonka. 2 WED 9:30 AM C 20-25 mi. JOAN'S BEST DAM RIDE (MAPLESS). Depart from Three Rivers Regional Park, Coon Rapids Dam parking lot(free parking). From Hwy 610, take Noble Pkwy north, then turn right (east) on 97th Ave N, then left(north) on Russell Ave to Park Entrance. We'll bike asphalt trails and roads on both west and east sides of the river with mid-point rest stops and optional lunch at Rose Garden at end of ride. Depart from Maple Grove Cycling & Fitness, 8121 Wedgewood Lane (at the corner of Grove Dr. and Wedgewood Ln, near Cub Foods; take I-94 west to the Weaver Lake Rd exit, head east to intersection with Elm Creek Blvd, turn south to Grove Dr (first left). This will be a mapless ride, following the roads and trails of Maple Grove. Possible destinations include Elm Creek Park Preserve, Fish Lake Park, the Coon Rapids Dam, and more. Departure from the Welch trailhead for Red Wing Levee Park (2.5 miles past the trailhead), then return to Welch for a pit stop, and then to Cannon Falls. We can lunch there, or ride back to Welch and lunch after the ride, depending on rider preference. 3 THU 10:00 AM B 30-37 mi. PENN-cil Me In - After Breakfast!. Depart from PENN Cycle in Blaine; 10611 Baltimore ST NE, just behind Gander Mountain and Super Target located just off Hwy 65 and 105th. Come explore a different side of the northern suburbs on this relatively flat route that includes some winding trails through shady green spaces and a bridge with a curly-que up and down! 4 FRI 7:30 AM 15, 25, or 55 mi. 27TH ANNUAL WATERMELON RIDE. Depart from Deluxe, 3680 Victoria St. No., Shoreview, MN 55126. Three of the best things in America are the Fourth of July, bicycling, and watermelon. And there's an opportunity to enjoy all three of them at the 27th Annual Watermelon Ride, on Friday, July 4th. It's a fun and sociable family ride - with route options of 15, 25, and 55 miles - followed by an excellent Fourth of July picnic at Snail Lake in Shoreview. 4 FRI 12:30 PM A/B 55 mi. Erik's Watermelon Rind. Depart from Snail Lake Regional Park (depart from parking lot closest to the picnic pavillion). Join Erik the Bike Man for a fast paced, later departing run of the 55 mile Watermelon route. Ideal for Watermelon volunteers or people who would like more miles then the main Watermelon ride provided them. Please be aware that the ride will be running after the rest stops have closed and plan accordingly. 4 FRI 8:00 PM N 20-25 mi. Boom Boom Ride. Depart from Main parking lot at University of St. Thomas, corner of Summit and Cretin in Saint Paul. Avoid the traffic jams and ride your bike to see the fireworks. We'll cruise along the streets and trails of Saint Paul and eventually make our way downtown to watch the big display. Robert in St. Paul just south of the Capitol. You don't really need more than one of their manhole-cover-sized pancakes. 5 SAT 9:30 AM A/B 70-80; shorter option available. WI HILLS PLUM CITY. Depart from the municipal parking lot next to the gas station on Main St (County U) just off of Hwy 10 at the north end of downtown Plum City, WI. Plum City is on US Hwy 10, about 35 miles east of Prescott, WI. Challenging hills and little-traveled rural roads. Watch for details on TCBC MSN "Rides and Trips" message board during the week before ride. 5 SAT 10:00 AM C 20-25 mi. MENDOTA & ST PAUL LOOP. Depart from Axel's parking lot (across street from restaurant) at 1315 Hwy 13(Sibley Road)in downtown Mendota. We'll bike paved trails and roads on our trek to St. Paul, and down the High Bridge to our Caribou Coffee rest stop on Grand Ave. Then we return via Summit Ave., Minnehaha Falls, Fort Snelling and Mendota Bridge. 5 SAT 10:00 AM A/B 31, 43, 60 & 68 mi. A "Berry" Sweet Ride. Depart from Mahtomedi High School on Hwy 12 (take Hwy 36 just east of I-694, north on Hilton Trail, east on Hwy 12, then left into the school.). Ride the scenic, winding back roads of Washington County en route to Scandia, then satisfy your sweet tooth with an afternoon stop at the Pine Tree Orchard for such delicacies as strawberry pie (a la mode, of course), strawberry muffins, or those strawberry-rhubarb rollovers which are to die for!!! 5 SAT 5:30 PM C 23 - 45 miles An Evening on the Bike with Friends. Depart from Burger King Parking Lot, Hwy 120 (Century Avenue) and Hwy 36 (please park on west side of lot. We will feature the beautiful Gateway Trail for this series of rides. The ride leader will have various options that will extend the distance. This early-bird 151 mile route is the only one rated at an A ride level of the four routes offered through Sunday Sunrise Solitude (the other three routes are shorter and are rated at an A/B ride level).
