I am helping Mike Beadles out this year to continue this ride for those that want to log around 40-50 miles on a Wednesday evening (this ride plus the 6:00 ride). This is a short and easy ride primarily on bike paths with easy terrain (no hills). Ride should conclude around 5:40pm in time to join Mike’s 6:00 ride at the same location allowing some socialization with the 6:00 riders. This ride is mapless with extremely easy routes. If Mike Beadles changes his 6:00pm ride start time, this ride’s start time will also change so that there is a two hour difference between the two rides. If its’ raining (or snowing!), just finished a heavy downpour, or severe weather is imminent this ride will be cancelled. Please feel free to call the ride leader if in doubt. Ride is normally 19-21 miles with a leg down and back to the Free Wheel Bike location on the Greenway trail with a short rest option (5-10 minutes). The 13 mile option is available to anyone that wants it, or if the weather is not pleasant, etc. Route might change to vary it a little since the night rides on Mondays and Wednesdays at our same location are primarily using the same trails so we may venture off them at times. REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR NIGHT RIDING EQUIPMENT IF YOU WANT TO DO THE 6:00PM RIDE! YOU CANNOT RIDE WITHOUT IT ON THE 6:00 RIDE! I usually have an ice water cooler with me, cookies, and maybe some candy bars in my JEEP that anyone is welcome to use before or after the ride. Please take a look, just copy and paste: http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/fullscreen/46934952/ Secondly, I only provide cue sheets, although they are accurate, concise, and easy to read and follow if you have a mapclip and a cyclometer. This map has a shortcut across the loop (36mi) and also an extension thru St Francis (51 mi), altho neither is shown, in the interest of simplicity. This is a ride from the Eastside of the CR Dam heading North and looping counter clockwise thru Anoka. The route is based on Open Road and one of my Start From Cars rides I have lead, just a different start. I hope you will find that it's a rather pleasant, flat, easy ride with what I hope will be a convenient ridestart for many. That is, if you live on the Westside of the river, you could park on the Westside of the dam and ride across to the ridestart, thusly saving alot of driving. As always I am honored with faster riders, altho I will ride the speed posted for this ride. John Ford juan4d-at-gmail.com cell 612-245-9935 & others.
