WEEKLY RIDES IN MARCH

THURSDAYS: SPINNING NOW. 0 miles. Begin at 6 PM from Now Sports, 3673 Lexington Ave N, between County Road E and 694. Let’s get ready for the ride season by spinning. Just bring your bike and Now Sports supplies the trainers. Paul Huntington.

FRIDAYS: FRIDAYS ON THE BIKE. A/B 20-30 mi. Depart at 10:00 AM from north end of Lake Phalen, corner of Lakeshore and Lakeshore in Maplewood. All riders welcome. Dunn Brothers for those who want to stop for coffee. Michael McNutt

SUNDAYS: THINK SPRING. A/B 15-40 mi. Depart at 11 AM from Roseville Professional Center (2233 Hamline Ave N - just south of Hwy 36 on the west side of Hamline Ave in Roseville across from the Roseville Library). Park at the west end of the lot. Water & restrooms available in Dunn Bros before & after the ride. Weather dictates distance, tire tread, & clothing layers. Tales & java/juice afterward at Dunn's or in lieu of the ride if there's bad weather. Jim Joy.

TUESDAYS: WINTER WARMUP. A/B 15-25 mi. Depart at 11 AM from Lynnhurst Park in Minneapolis, W. 50th and Minnehaha Parkway, just south of Lake Harriet. Don't let winter keep you from riding! Route & mileage varies depending on the weather. Most routes include a lunch stop at the Birchwood Café. Jim Joy.

3 FRI SPRING'S AROUND THE CORNER. A/B 20-30 mi. Depart at 2:00 PM from the Spring Gate Center in Golden Valley, Hwy 100/Duluth St. by Applebees. Explore Medicine Lake and beyond. Katie Angle.

4 SAT BICYCLING TRAVEL & FITNESS EXPO - Day 1. 9 AM to 8 PM at the Minneapolis Convention Center, 1301 Second Avenue South, Minneapolis, down the escalator to Exhibit Hall "A" (under Exhibit Hall "B"). Over 200 Exhibitors of Bicycling, Travel and Fitness-Related Products and Services. Also, come visit the TCBC booth! Look for the discount coupon in this newsletter. Runs concurrently with the 2006 Minneapolis Home & Garden Show. TCBC Booth organizer is Mike Beadles.

5 SUN WINE COUNTRY OUT AND BACK A/B 50 Mi. Depart at 12:00 noon from the Svendsgaards Danish Lodge in Solvang, California. The ride will be a 50 mile out and back. 9 THU GREAT CYCLIST SOCIAL GET TOGETHER. We’ll all be meeting at 8:30 AM at Panera’s Bread and Coffee Shop at 2515 White Bear Ave, in Maplewood, just 2 blocks north of Highway 36. Our topic can range anywhere from cycling to planning more cycling trips, or just what is new in Mr. Rogers Neighborhood, or anything you wish to talk about. Coffee, bagels und fancy desserts are to die for. They also serve soup und sandwiches. What are you waiting for? Come und join us for some great TCBC camaraderie and fellowship. Any questions? 11 SAT WINTER WARMER. A/B 15-40 mi. Depart at 12 PM from SW corner of Como Park Pavilion parking lot, just off Lexington Avenue. Tired of winter already? Warm up with your winter cycling friends on a variety of routes that will warm you up on even these cold winter days. Weather will dictate route and distance. Cross or mountain bikes are encouraged. Dress appropriately for the existing weather conditions. Richard Franco.

12 SUN BIKE U - LOVE BIKE, WISH BIKE LOVED ME. Begin Dessert Potluck at 6:30 PM, Presentation begins at 7:15 PM at Erik’s Bike Shop in St. Louis Park (8006 Minnetonka Blvd, corner of Minnetonka and Texas Ave).  After a long day in the saddle, are your muscles sore and aching?  Chris Balser, Erik’s Bike Fit director and yoga instructor, will discuss proper bike fit (including demonstrating fit evaluation for an attendee or two on their own bikes) and will show helpful yoga stretches to ease post-biking strain.  A free bike fitting will be raffled off to a lucky attendee.  Please wear loose clothing so that you can participate in the stretches.

18 SAT ST. PADDY'S DAY PEDAL. B 20-30 mi. Depart at 1 PM from the Green Mill Restaurant, north of I-694 and east of Lexington Ave in Shoreview. Irish eyes will be a-smilin' as we celebrate St. Patrick's Day on our trusty two-wheelers. Dressing in green is encouraged. Take your favorite leprechaun for a ride and the miles will fly by! Snack option afterwards at the Green Mill for those who have worked up an appetite. Katie O'Kovar (AKA Kate Kovar).
