    • American Red Cross: Health & Safety Tips: Heat Related Illness - Information and tips on how to deal with high environmental temperatures. When it’s summertime it usually means activities and fun under the sun! Whether you love putting on shorts and feeling the warm outdoors, or find it hot and sticky, everyone must be careful not to let a heat-related illness spoil the day.
    • Heat Exhaustion information from the Centers for Disease Control People suffer heat-related illness when the body’s temperature control system is overloaded. The body normally cools itself by sweating. But under some conditions, sweating just isn’t enough. In such cases, a person’s body temperature rises rapidly. Very high body temperatures may damage the brain or other vital organs. More information from the CDC website.

  • Better Bicycling Information by the League of American Bicyclists This area of the L.A.B. website has many articles about bicycling technique, equipment, maintenance and safety tips for all bicyclists.
  • Adventure Cycling Association - Link to their Cyclsource page that includes information on how to obtain their excellent maps. Founded in 1973 as Bikecentennial, Adventure Cycling Association is America's premier not-for-profit organization dedicated to bicycle travel with nearly 40,000 members nationwide.
  • The Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin (BFW) is a statewide, nonprofit, bicycle advocacy organization with more than 2,500 members. Working to make Wisconsin a better place is what it is all about.
  • Bicycling Life - The purpose of Bicycling Life is to promote bicycling by demonstrating that legal cycling on streets, roads, and highways is safe, clean, healthy, enjoyable, economical, and beneficial to society, and to provide bike riders with the information and encouragement they need to become vehicular cyclists.
  • Classic Rendezvous The purpose of this not-for-profit site is to encourage those interested in enjoying and preserving vintage lightweight "racing" style bicycles of the period from the early 20th century until 1983. The goals are: identification of makers, presenting of pictures of fine bicycles and information about the marques & their history, offering information about resources and, finally, offering camaraderie among the buffs.
  • Duluth Superior Metropolitan Bike Map The map displays off-road trails, such as the Willard Munger and Western Waterfront Trails in Duluth (MN) and the Osaugie and Millennium Trails in Superior (WI). The map also identifies on-street signed bike routes in Duluth and Hermantown and other recommended unsigned on-street routes throughout the Twin Ports area.

  • Trails from Rails This website was designed to give cyclists a list of many of the best bicycle touring trails in the US. All of the trails on this site are paved or are crushed limestone/gravel, so that they are navigable on touring or cross-bikes.
